David Strother  CPA | owner

Dave, the firm’s founder, started Strother & Associates nearly 30 years ago. Today his role focuses primarily on tax planning and tax compliance services. He serves a diverse group of professional clients in health care, real estate, finance, engineering and construction. Dave also works extensively with individuals, closely held businesses, estates and trusts, many of which have been with the firm since its inception in 1980. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Golden Gate University. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, he became an Enrolled Agent in 1982. Dave lives in Pleasanton with his wife and nearby daughters and grandchildren. He and his wife enjoy traveling, golf and spending time with friends and family.

Diane Moreno  CPA

Diane has been with Strother & Associates for the past 4 years. She came to the firm after having spent the previous 10 years working as a Senior Accountant and has become well experienced in tax and accounting for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates and trusts. Diane brings a strong work ethic and energy to Strother and Associates and is eager to engage in complex scenarios. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University East Bay, and is a Certified Public Accountant. She lives in Pleasanton with her husband and daughter and enjoys playing softball.

Michelle Rumsey  Accounting Staff

Michelle has been working with Strother & Associates for almost 14 years. Having started her career in banking as an operations manager, she eventually moved to public accounting because she enjoyed working with a variety of businesses and people. Michelle is the firm’s QuickBooks® specialist and assists clients with training, configuration and installation support. The combination of her accounting and software/computer skills keeps the firm and its clients current with accounting software changes and new applications. She lives in Pleasanton with her husband and children. She enjoys cooking for family and friends, skiing and working out.

Darlene Rodrigues  Accounting Staff

Darlene has been working with Strother and Associates since 1997. She started her career with one of the Big 4 accounting firms in San Francisco. She has extensive experience with individual taxation along with a background in partnerships and corporations. Darlene attended the University of California at Berkeley where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with emphases in accounting and marketing. She passed the Certified Public Accountant examination in 1986. She resides in the East Bay with her husband and children. She plays the piano and enjoys traveling.

Rosalee Smith  Accounting Staff

Rosalee has been with Strother & Associates since the firm relocated to Pleasanton in 1996. Having worked in tax and accounting for over 30 years, Rosalee has an extensive background in nearly all facets of the firm’s business from new client tax planning, audit, tax compliance and preparation. She passed the Enrolled Agent examination in 1991. Now semi-retired, she works for the firm during tax season and spends the rest of the year at home with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Eva Batstone  Administrative Assistant

Eva has been a key part of the Strother & Associates team since 1998. As an administrative assistant, she coordinates all tax filings, mailings and tax return check out during tax season. She’s become an integral part of the firm’s flow of business and has developed a great understanding for tax and accounting compliance. Eva lives in Pleasanton with her husband and enjoys spending time with her family.
